据悉，玛丽亚此前和RatPac娱乐公司谈到过这个计划，对方的高层、著名导演布莱特·拉特纳也正是天后多年的好友，布莱特曾指导过《尖峰时刻》系列、《宙斯之子》、《X战警3》等片，还是美剧《越狱》、《十二生肖》的制作人。
圣诞节对于玛丽亚·凯莉来说有着特殊的意义，1994年发行了单曲“All I Want for Christmas Is You”后，20年来，几乎每年圣诞期间，这首歌都会在美国公告牌节日歌曲榜夺冠，成了名副其实的圣诞神曲，不论玛丽亚的事业曾陷入过怎样的低谷，只要一到圣诞节所有人都会想到这首歌想到她，更有粉丝戏称她为“圣诞天后”。
